2011 Trips
We will have fewer trips than usual in 2011 because our daughter is graduating from high school in late May. Early reservations for 2011 are recommended!

2010 Trips
We had wonderful trips to the Luberon in May (three weeks) and the Cotswolds in June (two weeks). Our September 18-25, 2010 trip to the Luberon is full. Last minute cancellations are alway possible, so let us know if you’re able to be flexible and would like to be on our waiting list.
2011 Prices
(our prices have remained the same from 2010)
Luberon: Room occupied by one $3,300 (double room)
Chianti: Room occupied by one $3,100 (double room)
Luberon and Chianti: Room shared by two $2,800 per person
Luberon: Room shared by three $2,500 per person (triple not available in Chianti)
Our price represents an outstanding value, with almost all expense for the week included:
- 7 nights accommodation (3-star guesthouses) with en-suite bath. Rooms with one large bed or twin beds are available.
- 7 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 6 dinners (including wine or beer)
- Admissions, special activities, and many extras

- Trip planning guide
- Local transportation during the week, including pick-up and drop-off at designated meeting points
You are responsible for air transportation, transportation to and from the meeting points, and meals not included (two lunches and one dinner).
Our travelers become friends, and we enjoy experiencing other places together. We offer returning travelers a 10% discount on future Experience trips. We also offer a 5% discount to travelers who join us for two European Experience trips in the same year.
Note: Our prices may be adjusted in the future due to currency fluctuations; however, the price of your trip is guaranteed at the time of your reservation.
Deposits and Payments
The initial deposit is $500 per person, payable within seven days of your reservation. The balance is due 90 days prior to the first day of the trip. Payments are made by personal or cashier’s check, paid in US dollars.
Cancellation Fees
- 91+ days (from the first day of the trip): $200 per person
- 61-90 days: 25% of the total price
- 31-60 days: 50% of the total price
- 0-30 days: 100% of the total price
Cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason. We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage to protect against financial loss due to certain cancellations and other trip interruptions. You can identify and purchase travel insurance online at www.insuremytrip.com.
Travel Logistics
We meet on Saturday afternoon at a designated train station or airport, between 2 and 3 pm, depending on the location. We strongly recommend arriving in Europe at least one day before our week begins to allow time for “jet lag” adjustment and to provide a buffer for any travel delays. We return to these same meeting places the following Saturday morning, allowing for a 10 am train or 10:30 am air departure. Our meeting places for 2011 are:
The Luberon Experience: Avignon TGV station or Marseille airport. You can arrive and depart from different locations.
The Chianti Experience: Figline Valdarno train station (less than 30 minutes from Florence)
