Photos – The Cotswolds
Just an hour-and-a-half from the bustle of London, the Cotswolds is an area rich with beauty: rolling hills of grazing sheep, historic castles, quaint villages of golden stone, and incredible gardens overflowing with color.
Our two groups were blessed with near-perfect weather for our Cotswolds Experience weeks in June 2010. (I might have used my umbrella for 30 seconds…) The village of Chipping Campden was an ideal base for us, and our second group was fortunate to be in Chipping Campden for their annual “open gardens” weekend. Almost 30 private gardens in the village opened for visitors, and we happily rearranged our schedule to take advantage of this. Beautiful gardens were definitely a highlight of the week, and the flowers were truly spectacular. We also enjoyed visits to two working farms: the Righter family’s Old Farm outside Moreton-in-Marsh and cheesemaker Simon Weaver’s dairy farm near Lower Swell.
